Abbas Lab welcomes two high school students: Curtis Love and Alondra Fuentes Avila in the framework of our K12 Acdemic Mentorship Program for students from underepresnted communities. The students will be initiated to research, engineering and nanotechnology. The program is in collaboration with Timothy Chase (Murray Middle School). Welcome Curtis and Alondra !

Abbas Lab receives funding from the MnDRIVE Environment for the development of a novel sponge nanotechnology to clean water from mercury contamination. We are thankful to MNE for this support to help solve the mercury problem.

Abbas Lab receives funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a 3-years project starting June 1, 2016. Project title: "Homogeneous plasmonic assays for instantaneous microbial detection". We are thankful to NSF for this extremely valuable support that will help develop the next generation of detection technologies.
